Online trading is booming, the logisticians' signals are still pointing to growth. But what is referred to as the last mile in the supply chain is subject to enormous pressure: Congestion, driving prohibitions and environmental regulations are making access to inner cities more difficult. Traffic, living, trade and logistics – everyone is competing for a small amount of space in the urban landscape. Innovations are in demand to ensure that in future too, flows of goods will continue to reach their destinations. The requirement: clean, combined, congestion-free.
How can supply bottlenecks be avoided? What disruptions affect the urban supply chain? What solutions exist for the last mile? What policy framework does the sector need?
The plan: Pitches on studies and technologies will introduce the discussion. In the discussion itself, shipping agents, logisticians, municipal and government policymakers will debate the underlying conditions and approaches to a solution in order to keep the last mile moving and to stimulate innovation.
